I told all of you in a previous post that I had gotten the NEW Gillette Venus Embrace Sensitive Razor to test BEFORE IT HIT STORE SHELVES and how excited I was to be among the first group of people to try it! If you didn't read that post you can find that HERE Before I get started on the actual review let me start by telling you a little bit about me and how much I HATE HAIR! I'm Italian, my hair is naturally DARK, thick, and uncompromising! The only place I want hair to be is on my head and that's about it! If I could find some easy magical way to zap all of it away from my underarms, legs, and bikini areas(that would really last forever) I would without a second thought, but alas there is no magical way I have found yet so instead I'm stuck shaving with the rest of you! Because of my huge disregard for hair in general I can't make it a day without shaving! Even though you all know I'm a Florida girl and we have mostly warm weather year round let me tell you how it could literally be negative 30 Degrees outside and I can promise you I'm still shaving everyday! I just can't deal! Even though I have to shave everyday my skin is still very sensitive! I still sometimes get the redness, irritation, and those dreaded razor bumps! Quick Fact: Did you know that 60% of women believe that their sensitive skin gets in the way of a close, smooth shave; but the skin symptoms women are experiencing may just be irritation from using the WRONG razor?! Me neither, but I know now!!!!
I'm impressed by the features of the Venus Embrace Sensitive Razor! I REALLY like that the refills can fit ANY Venus Razor Handle and that they are easy to change! I like that because sometimes like every other girl I know when I decide I like a brands product I like to try some of their other products too! And REALLY!? Who wants to HAVE TO buy a new razor handle every time they want to try a new cartridge? I personally think its easier, and more cost effective for the consumer when a brand allows your razor handle to interchange with all their cartridges! Don't forget it's earth friendly too! =-) An applause goes out to Venus for that! Also the Razor Handle has a nice cushy feel and is comfortable to hold in your hand! With 5 blades spaced closer together you can get the job done quicker with less chance of having missed spots or that 1 stubborn hair left over (you know the one that you always notice AFTER you get out of the shower!) All my fast paced BUSY mommy's out there will probably all happily thank Venus for that feature! I also love that the Venus Embrace Sensitive includes aloe! As we all know I'm a Florida girl and I love the sun so any extra aloe is greatly appreciated! Aloe is also known to help keep the skin from being easily irritated! Less chance of red spots and razor burn! All my sensitive skinned girls I know will probably be happy for that! No girl I know wants to be at the pool or the beach with red spots or razor burn on their legs or other lady parts!
The Venus Embrace Sensitive Razor comes with the razor handle, 2 razor cartridges, and a neat little shower hook with a suction cup on the back so that you can hang your razor on the shower wall when you are not using it. The price on amazon runs around 9.47 for the starter pack and 15.97 for the refill pack that includes 4 replacement cartridges)
Using The Razor
The Venus Embrace Sensitive Razor promises to provide a close shave with no irritation and I have to say it has made good on its promises. When I tried it out I decided to use just plain old soap to lather my legs before shaving(afterall they are claiming its the razor that causes the irritation not the soap/shaving cream you use to shave). Within 5-7 minutes my legs, armpits, and lady parts had a close shave with no irritation at all! The razor literally just glides along your skin which makes it easy to get the job done quickly and efficiently! I was actually really surprised that it was so quick and easy! Usually it always takes a good 15 to 20 minutes to shave my legs, armpits, and lady parts! Afterwards my skin was soft, smooth, and stubble free. The next day I went to shave and was really surprised by the hair re-growth or more accurately the lack there of! That in itself definitely shows it provides a closer shave than any other razor because usually when I shave with any other razor the next morning it looks like I didn't even shave the day before! Overall I was really impressed! They definitely knew what they were talking about when they said using the right razor has everything to do with it! All in all I would definitely recommend the Gillette Venus Embrace Sensitive to ANYONE and EVERYONE! I would ESPECIALLY recommend the Gillette Venus Embrace Sensitive to anyone that has sensitive skin or usually experiences irritation after shaving! A big thanks goes out to Influenster for sending me the best razor I've seen yet! As for my old razor it has conveniently found its way into the trash can! Out with the old and in with new!
